Questions, answered.

Everything people ask us about NIKO eggs, buying them, and becoming a NIKO shop.

About Niko eggs

Where do NIKO eggs come from?

From our own farm in Assam. NIKO Eggs is a venture of Aminu Farms.

How fresh are NIKO eggs?

They usually reach shop shelves about two days after they’re laid. Most eggs sold in Assam spend 3–4 days on the road.

White or brown: which is better?

Shell colour comes from the breed of hen. Nutrition is about the same, so pick the one you like.

What does the name NIKO mean?

Koni is the Assamese word for egg. Read it backwards and you get NIKO.

Buying Niko

My shop doesn’t keep NIKO. What can I do?

Ask them to. Send them the message on our Find a store page, and we’ll follow up with your shop.

Can I order directly from you?

Not yet. NIKO eggs are sold through shops near you.

For shopkeepers

How do I become a NIKO shop?

Register on our For shops page. We’ll call you and connect you to the NIKO distributor for your area.

Does it cost anything to join?

No. Registering and the NIKO shop board are free.

A NIKO distributor in your area.

Freshness and storage

How should I store eggs?

In the fridge, in their carton, with the pointed end down. Avoid the fridge door.

How can I tell if an egg is fresh?

Put it in a bowl of water. A fresh egg sinks and lies flat. If it floats, it’s old.
