Freshness and storage

How to keep eggs fresh at home.

Keep them cool

Store eggs in the fridge, not the fridge door, where the temperature changes each time it opens.

Pointy end down

Keep them in the carton with the pointed end down to protect the yolk.

The float test

A fresh egg sinks and lies flat in a bowl of water. If it floats, it’s old.
